Free Sample - Dover Hair Care

Help! Back to school! Eeek!

Don't forget to head on over to  www.facebook.com/masterlock and enter there amazing contest! The grand prize is an iPad!!!

Ahh... It is that dreaded time of year for most parents... Getting ready for back to school. This year is my first back to school, and it is scary. I have been preparing like crazy - Going over board with school supplies, checking the latest clothes trends and cheapest deals...

But it all boils down to the fact that I am not a veteren mom, this is a first and a scary first at that.

Here are some tips that I picked up from a few veteren mom's this summer that eased my mind -

1. This back to school is the first of many. Don't over do yourself and get anxious, it WILL rub off on your kid making him more likely to not want to go.

2. Store up on coupons for school supplies during the summer then purchase them in september when they go on clearance. Any freebies STOCK UP ON! They don't expire and you can use them in years to come.

3. Skip the hair cut and the fancy clothes. Save it for picture day. You want your child to be comfortable.

4. Don't leave until they are ready for you to leave. But once they are ready, LEAVE! Most kindergartens will allow a parent to stick around for a while.

5. Make sure everything is labeled with your child's name. Coats, backpacks, lunchboxes etc. Kids have an amazing tendancy to lose things. Make sure you know where the lost and found is.

And there it is. Do you have any advice for a rookie mom? Are all of these other mom's crazy and should I be doing this totally different?!

OMG! I FORGOT TO ENROLL HIM!

Joke... I did. Way earlier than I should have... But still. I want to be prepared for this big day!

The Peanut Shell - A Review

While the twins are sleeping blissfully, I thought I would take my time with this review. It is one thing that I believe all parents should own. It keeps dirty nasty germs at bay, and is pretty darn cute while it is hard at work.

The Peanut Shell sent me a lovely shopping cart cover a while back, and I must say, it was pretty darned cute! The print I chose was Mudd Pie
Not only are they easy to grab and throw over the cart, but they also fold up in to this cute little clutch. They fit nicely in to a diaper bag, unlike my "generic " which just tends to float around the back seat of my Taurus.

I took this baby for a test drive last weekend during my first major coupon haul, and boy did it pass the test.

Safeway - Fit easily over the cart, no adjusting during shopping, no baby slipping and folded back up nicely.

Mega Foods - The smaller carts made for a little fabric bunching, but stayed in place, no problems.

KMART - Same cart design as Safeway but had some trouble getting bigger seat belts through holes. Took a minute, but still easier than "generic ".

Freddy's - No problems.

Costco - Didnt work. Lol - They have double seats.

So No troubles, pretty, easy to use, and machine washable.

Here is what The Peanut Shell has to say:

About

Just because your life has changed, doesn't mean you have.

We appreciate that after welcoming your baby into your life, you are still the same 'you' that you have always been yet, perhaps even more remarkable and we design our products to reflect that.

Our greatest ambition is to create chic and sensible products for the eclectic mom.

Core Values

We believe in...

Fashion above all else...

You didn't abandon your sense of style for motherhood; you carried it with you. And, The Peanut Shell is right by your side with chic product designs for carrying and nurturing your peanut. Call us confident, but we know how to pick our fabrics and patterns. We aim to set trends in fashion rather than follow them. Fashion is our passion, so it is a joy to bring you the most innovative, creative and chic prints and designs available.

Sensibility without a doubt...

As a parent, you have adjusted so much in your life. The Peanut Shell's goal is to adjust to you rather than add something else to your already overflowing plate. We create smart, quality products that are made to fit you and adjust to your growing baby's needs. Our objective is to make your life on the go as effortless as possible through functional, clever design.

Charisma that goes a long way...

You don't leave anything on the table and neither do we. The Peanut Shell believes in incorporating its unique perspective into its product designs. We believe our products uniquely express our fun loving, spirited and compassionate attitudes and we are proud to bring these qualities to you.

Beautifully written! They also have AMAZING nursing covers, the CUTEST car seat covers and a new hospital gown just for Mama, among many other wonderful products.

Beaba Bib'expresso - A Clever Review

Like always, my reviews begin with something along the lines of "I was excited when…" or  "I am so excited to tell you…"

And this is another exciting moment!

Having twins, nothing comes easy. That's why I was thrilled to find out that I got picked to review Beaba's Bib'expresso! Oh, it seemed like forever that I had to wait for it to come in the mail then one day my sweet Fedex guy comes with yet another package. But this time… YES! It is! Oh my little life saver in a pretty green box, with an even prettier green - for lack of better words - bottle maker inside!

Over the past month or so, my Bib'expresso and I have gotten to know one another very well.  Although frustrating at first, the perfect bottle temperatures are worth it. For months my twins and I have fought over how warm or cold there bottles should be. If they were not perfect breast milk temp. they would not take them. It does several other nifty things as well, sterilizes bottles, warms breast milk, warms baby food and just look's darn nifty on your counter!

I have come up with several new uses for it as well! The most popular being warming water for D's "Not So Hot Cocoa". Works wonders!

Here is a little from the company themselves -

With the Bib'expresso it is now possible to prepare a bottle in a few seconds, with just one hand and be certain it is at the perfect temperature for baby. The Bib'expresso's unique water flow mixes powdered formula quickly, reducing air bubbles and eliminating hot spots. Product comes with a compact, removable bottle and food warmer that can be used to heat food jars and prepared bottles of breast milk and formula. And, the bottle storage compartment located on the back of unit doubles as a microwavable bottle sterilizer, holding up to three 10 ounce (300 ml) bottles. With a self cleaning steam system, you save time and the Bib'expresso is sterilized for future use.
  • Bottle preparation in 30 seconds.
  • Safe - The bottle is always at the right temperature thanks to direct water control
  • Practical - direct water flow mixes the powder formula and helps ensure more even temperature
  • Easy to Use - just one hand required to prepare the bottle
  • Removable, ultra-compact bottle and food warmer can be used anywhere
  • Microwavable sterilizer/bottle storage compartment included. Can hold up to three 10 ounce (300 ml) bottles. Protects sterilized bottles from light and dust and keeps them handy and ready to use when preparing baby's bottle.
  • Self-cleaning steam system for in-depth cleaning of the device.
  • Product can be used after baby for preparing beverages with hot water such as tea and hot cocoa.
  • BPA-free.
  • Colors available: Sorbet.

Where to purchase - ARV 149.00

And many other fine retailers!

To end this fine post, I would just like to that Beaba and The Clever Girls Collective for making the past month a little easier on me with this wonderful opportunity to review such an innovative product!

While
Béaba provided me with a Bib'expresso to review, the opinions I've expressed here are solely my own and represent my honest viewpoint. Béaba, Clever Girls Collective and I promote Blog With Integrity.
